Nintendo (7974) has released its financial results, reporting net sales of 517,813 million yen, a decrease of 9.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. However, profitability showed a remarkable expansion. Operating profit surged by 150.5% year-on-year to 142,596 million yen, while ordinary profit increased by 115.1% to 206,150 million yen. Profit attributable to owners of parent rose 53.5% to 147,423 million yen, and comprehensive income grew 120.7% to 167,757 million yen, resulting in basic earnings per share (EPS) of 127.88 yen.
From a financial and valuation perspective, the company maintains a robust foundation with an equity ratio of 76.5%, highlighting exceptional financial stability. Retained earnings stand at a massive 2,923.28 billion yen, providing abundant resources for future business investments and shareholder returns. Meanwhile, Return on Equity (ROE) was recorded at 5.66% and Return on Assets (ROA) at 3.86%. Despite the top-line revenue contraction, the stringent cost management and improved profit margins drove significant earnings growth for the period.
