Sentiment Analysis
Global stocks are well below their record highs, but not US value equities. The iShares S&P 500 Value ETF (IVE) notched a new record following generally Goldilocks domestic CPI, PPI, and Retail Sales numbers this week.
Valuation is no longer cheap at 18.5x P/E and a PEG just below 2.0x, but robust absolute and relative strength justifies continued optimism. Risks include seasonally weak August–October performance, but IVE’s cyclical and value tilt offers a compelling offset to tech-heavy portfolios.
