Additionally, this segment encompasses electronic dictionaries, calculators, telephones, network control units, solar cells, and energy storage batteries. The 8K Ecosystem segment focuses on high-definition visual and business solutions, offering televisions, Blu-ray disc recorders, and audio equipment. Its commercial offerings include multi-function printers, information displays, business projectors, point-of-sale (POS) systems, factory automation (FA) equipment, related options and consumables, software, and even protective masks. The ICT (Information and Communication Technology) segment delivers a suite of connected devices, such as mobile phones, personal computers, tablet devices, and routers. Specializing in visual output, the Display Device segment produces various display modules and in-vehicle camera systems. Finally, the Electronic Device segment manufactures critical components like camera modules and various sensor modules, including proximity and dust sensors. It also provides wafer foundry services and develops advanced CMOS/CCD sensors and semiconductor lasers. Tracing its origins back to 1912, the company was initially known as Hayakawa Electric Industry Co., Ltd., before officially adopting the name Sharp Corporation in January 1970. Its corporate headquarters are located in Sakai, Japan.
