Greencore Group PLC ( LSE:GNC ) View Price & Profile Greencore shares jump 7% as Peel Hunt backs further profit upgrades Published: 03:34 13 Oct 2026 EDT Greencore Group PLC (LSE:GNC) shares rose more than 7% to an intraday high of 281.4p after Peel Hunt highlighted strong fourth-quarter volumes and further profit upgrades at the convenience food maker. The broker maintained its 'buy' recommendation and 300p price target after Greencore reported fourth-quarter sales growth of 4.5%, supported by higher volumes and recovery of labour, packaging and some raw material inflation. Manufactured volume growth accelerated to 2.1% during the quarter, compared with market growth of 0.5%, with salads, dips, quiche and sandwiches among the stronger chilled categories. Full-year sales increased 3.6% to £3.4 billion. Peel Hunt said profit momentum was also ahead of expectations as volume growth combined with continued improvement in margins. Greencore now expects earnings before interest and tax of around £248 million, approximately 4% above market consensus. The broker also pointed to encouraging progress on acquisition synergies, including savings from central reorganisation, procurement and distribution. Peel Hunt said it expects Greencore to continue outperforming its synergy targets, which should help offset emerging headwinds and provide further support for earnings. The broker values the shares at 10.4 times forecast September 2027 earnings, with an enterprise value to earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation multiple of 6.1 times and a free cash flow yield of 8%. Greencore shares later eased to around 267p, still 1.8% above Monday’s closing price of 262.2p. Continue reading
