T. Rowe Price launched three active equity ETFs Thursday. The funds target biotechnology, small-cap and mid-cap stocks, the company said.
T. Rowe Price added three active equity ETFs to its lineup this week. Biotech, small-cap and mid-cap strategies join 35 other active funds at the firm. New expense ratios range from 0.47% to 0.59% across the three ETFs. The three funds push T. Rowe Price’s active ETF lineup to 38 funds. Eight of those launched this year alone, according to the company, giving advisors more choices across three market segments. Tim Coyne, the firm’s global head of ETFs, said the funds “broaden investors’ access to distinct areas of the market.” He said they combine the firm’s research, active management and “the fully transparent ETF structure.”
All three ETFs are fully transparent and began trading on the Nasdaq exchange Thursday. They join a T. Rowe Price lineup that spans equity, fixed income, multi-asset and thematic strategies, the firm said.
The T. Rowe Price Biotech ETF (TDNA) targets biotech companies that could treat or cure disease, according to the company. Portfolio manager John Hall has 11 years of investment experience at the firm. TDNA aims to hold 60 to 120 stocks, and it charges a 0.55% expense ratio.
Diversified exposure to U.S. small-cap stocks is the focus of the T. Rowe Price Small-Cap ETF (TSEE). The fund leans on the firm’s small-cap heritage and fundamental research, T. Rowe Price said. Alex Roik, who has 13 years of investment experience, manages the fund. TSEE typically holds 200 or more stocks and carries a 0.59% expense ratio.
The T. Rowe Price Mid-Cap Equity Research ETF (TMID) expands the firm’s Structured Research Strategies lineup, per the company. That lineup also includes the T. Rowe Price Equity Research ETF (TSPA), T. Rowe Price International Equity Research ETF (TIER), and T. Rowe Price Emerging Markets Equity Research (TEMR). The firm’s research analysts drive stock selection in TMID through their “best ideas,” according to the company. Paige Davis Jr., Amanda Ludwitzke and Thomas Watson manage the fund. Together, they have a combined 49 years of investing experience. TMID typically holds more than 300 stocks and carries a 0.47% expense ratio, the firm said.
T. Rowe Price managed $1.90 trillion in client assets as of August 31, the company reported. Retirement accounts, such as 401(k) plans, account for about two-thirds of that total.
