The strategy centers on what CEO Danny Bogar describes as three "value horizons": near-term waste destruction services, regional infrastructure for biosolids treatment, and eventual global expansion of the business model. The company's first priority is its Waste Destruction Services (WDS) segment, a fee-for-service model targeting difficult municipal, federal and industrial waste streams, particularly PFAS-contaminated materials such as AFFF. The company's Orlando facility serves as its first commercial WDS hub and is intended as the template for future sites, including a federal hub-and-spoke strategy for aggregating concentrated PFAS wastes. 374Water said the federal opportunity is supported by a Success Memo from the Defense Innovation Unit and a strategic agreement with Arcadis, which the company believes provide a pathway for government contracting through Other Transaction Authority. The company's second focus is regional infrastructure for destroying biosolids and wastewater residuals, an issue it says affects more than 16,000 US wastewater treatment facilities. Projects supporting this effort are underway in Orlando, Florida; Orange County, California; St. Cloud, Minnesota; and Olathe, Kansas, where 374Water previously announced a purchase order for AirSCWO equipment and operations valued at approximately $4.8 million. The company's third horizon involves expanding the WDS model internationally through a mix of company-owned facilities, licensing agreements, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, depending on the region. "We don't have to own every facility or self-fund every deployment," Bogar said. "We need to own and continually advance the technology and knowledge that create value. The right partners can help us scale faster and more efficiently." Raj Melkote, CTO of 374Water, said the company's operating experience across more than 200 waste types has generated data that continues to inform its technology. "The more we operate, the more we learn," Melkote said. "This leads to better systems, better operations, and better results for our customers." Brad Meyers, COO of 374Water, added the company intends to pursue project-level debt, infrastructure capital and strategic partners to fund its expansion plans. Continue reading
