Active Energy Group PLC ( AIM:AEG OTCID:AEUSF ) View Price & Profile Active Energy eyes scale-up as it moves into infrastructure platform's second phase Published: 07:38 09 Sep 2026 BST Active Energy Group PLC (AIM:AEG, OTCID:AEUSF) , the d developer of power-backed infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates and wider Gulf, says it is moving from proving its model to securing scale as it pursues developments of up to 100 megawatts. The company said its first phase in the UAE established capability, while the second phase is about securing scale, with the board believing the combination could transform the Group from a developer of individual sites into a broader power-backed infrastructure platform. Active Energy identified around 60 megawatts of UAE infrastructure opportunity during the summer, with commercial structure and terms being developed alongside the Private Office of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. It has also opened early-stage discussions with a major international digital infrastructure participant regarding potential UAE requirements of up to 100 megawatts. Its Ghummud operating site continued to perform in line with expectations, generating approximately $110,000 per month. An 8 megawatt development awaiting deployment with Bitdeer, the Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency miner, could generate approximately $3.2 million per annum of infrastructure revenue under current indicative modelling. Bitdeer has indicated a preference for standalone opportunities of approximately 20 megawatts and above, prompting Active Energy to aggregate capacity through a proposed acquisition of an additional c.6 megawatt energised site, which could be increased to c.10 megawatts. The company is also in advanced discussions to acquire a client base and sales platform generating more than $7 million of annual revenue. Following the WDMS Global 2026 summit in Hong Kong, Active Energy entered negotiations with the event's host, one of the world's largest manufacturers of ASIC computing equipment, over potential deployment of its equipment across the Group's UAE capacity. Chief executive Paul Elliott said Bitdeer's evaluation of the 8 megawatt development made clear that institutional operators wanted 20 megawatts and above. He said the group's response was to secure more power, aggregate capacity and build a proposition matching that demand, adding that the priority now was to convert opportunity into assets, long-term customers and sustainable shareholder value.
