Fineqia International Inc ( CSE:FNQ ) View Price & Profile Fineqia report shows digital asset ETPs outpacing market recovery Published: 11:56 04 Sep 2026 EDT Digital asset exchange-traded products staged their strongest rebound of the year in August, with global assets under management climbing 27.2% to $138.2 billion, according to analysis from Fineqia International Inc (CSE:FNQ) . The increase, up from $108.7 billion at the end of July, marked the sharpest monthly gain recorded in 2026 and pushed AUM to its highest level since January, said Matteo Greco, senior analyst at Fineqia. The rebound in ETP assets outpaced the broader digital asset market, which rose 21.2% during the month, from $2.26 trillion to $2.74 trillion. Greco said the roughly 6 percentage point outperformance pointed to a recovery driven by both rising asset prices and stronger aggregate flows into the products. Bitcoin-backed ETPs rose 24.5% to $110.3 billion, tracking closely with BTC's 24.9% price gain to $78,539. Greco noted the tight alignment between the ETP segment and the underlying asset suggested the growth was largely price driven, with limited redemption pressure compared with July. Ethereum ETPs posted the strongest performance among the major categories, with AUM surging 43% to $17.2 billion as ETH's price climbed 32.4% to $2,466. The roughly 10.6 percentage point outperformance over the underlying asset, Greco said, pointed to strong positive flows into the products rather than price appreciation alone. Altcoin ETPs saw AUM jump 40.6% to $7.40 billion, while basket products rose 18.5% to $3.38 billion. Greco said the altcoin gains, which outpaced the broader market by around 19.4 percentage points, indicated investor demand had broadened well beyond bitcoin and ether during the month. Bitcoin remained the dominant segment, accounting for approximately 79.8% of total crypto ETP AUM at the end of August, down from 81.5% in July as Ethereum and altcoin products expanded their share. Despite the August rally, total crypto ETP AUM remained down 15.8% year-to-date, compared with a 10.2% decline in total digital asset market capitalisation. The number of listed digital asset ETPs held steady at 330 at the end of August, unchanged from July but up from 312 at the end of 2025. Greco said the stable product count indicated the month's growth stemmed from performance and flows within the existing universe of products rather than new listings. Continue reading
