Sentiment Analysis

Cacco, Inc.'s financial results for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 2026 demonstrate solid top-line growth, fueled by the robust expansion of recurring revenue, primarily from its core fraud detection services. While the company reported an operating loss due to one-time expenses associated with M&A and business acquisitions aimed at future expansion, the underlying existing business shows significant year-on-year improvement when these special factors are excluded. This report provides a detailed analysis of the company's performance structure, growth drivers, M&A objectives, and full-year outlook, based on 10 key topics extracted from the earnings presentation.
1. Earnings Highlights: Sustained Revenue Growth and Top-Line Expansion
For the first half of FY2026, net sales reached 455 million yen (+11.9% YoY) , representing a steady 50.6% progress against the initial full-year plan. Growth was driven by the flagship "O-PLUX" fraud detection service suite. In particular, the expansion of the "O-PLUX Account Protection" service , which addresses the rapidly growing need for anti-account takeover measures, contributed significantly to the revenue increase. On a quarterly basis (Q2), net sales remained on an upward trajectory at 239 million yen (+10.1% YoY).
2. Evolution of the Recurring Business Model and Low Churn Rates
The most notable aspect of the company's revenue base is the high growth and increasing composition of recurring revenue. In the first half, recurring revenue from fraud detection services reached 385 million yen (+22.3% YoY) , with the recurring revenue ratio rising to 84.5% of total sales (+7.2 percentage points YoY). Furthermore, the revenue composition ratio of fraud detection services alone has reached 88.7%.
The average monthly churn rate (Gross churn rate) , a key indicator of the health of a recurring business, remains at an extremely low level of 0.40% . This reflects high customer satisfaction and the essential nature of the service, confirming a solid foundation of stable revenue built upon the accumulation of existing clients.
3. Profitability Improvement and Operating Income Structure Analysis
Gross profit increased to 335 million yen (+21.5% YoY) , with the gross profit margin improving significantly to 73.6% (+5.8 percentage points YoY). In addition to sales growth, a reduction in outsourcing costs (down 17.6 million yen) offset the increase in server and other expenses, contributing to the containment of cost of sales.
Meanwhile, the company reported an operating loss of 92 million yen. However, this loss contains a structural nuance that reveals insights into future growth.

The slide above (page 12) clearly illustrates the breakdown of the "one-time expenses" that significantly impacted operating income, as well as the effective improvement in the existing business excluding these factors. The 92 million yen operating loss includes a total of 37 million yen in one-time expenses (advisory fees, commissions, etc.) related to the acquisition of Anycloud Inc. as a wholly-owned subsidiary and the acquisition of the ad-fraud prevention business "X-log." Excluding these one-time costs, the adjusted operating loss is 55 million yen (operating margin of -12.2%) , an improvement of 3.8 percentage points from the 65 million yen loss (-16.0%) in the same period last year. Furthermore, excluding the impact of the ad-fraud prevention business, which is currently in an upfront investment phase, the operating loss for the existing business is 46 million yen , marking a significant reduction in losses of 19 million yen compared to the same period last year (65 million yen). Sales growth is successfully absorbing the natural increase in SG&A expenses, indicating a steady improvement in core profitability.
4. Explosive Growth of "O-PLUX Account Protection"
The growth accelerator within the fraud detection service is "O-PLUX Account Protection," which prevents account takeovers and unauthorized logins.

As shown in the slide above (page 16), the number of screenings for "O-PLUX Account Protection" in the first half reached 50.74 million, a staggering increase of +342.5% (approx. 4.4x) year-on-year. This is driven by the surge in demand for security measures at the login and account opening phases—such as preventing unauthorized access to member pages and identity theft during account creation—beyond traditional credit card payment fraud prevention. This service expansion is the primary growth engine, contributing 68% (+47 million yen) of the total increase in recurring revenue. Meanwhile, the traditional payment fraud prevention service, "O-PLUX Payment Protection," also saw steady growth with 21.81 million screenings (+14.6% YoY), with both products expanding the customer base through mutual synergy.
5. Expansion of Business Domain and Synergies through M&A
This fiscal year, the company has executed aggressive non-linear growth strategies:
- Acquisition of Anycloud Inc. (June): By welcoming Anycloud, which specializes in AI systems, contract development, and UX design, Cacco is integrating its data science expertise. This will drive the co-creation of new products, the in-house development and enhancement of existing products, and the strengthening of the development structure.
- Acquisition of Ad-Fraud Prevention Service "X-log" (April): This enables the provision of an "end-to-end" fraud prevention solution, from advertising to payment , covering everything from fraudulent ad clicks to payment fraud detection.
6. Revision of Full-Year Earnings Forecast and New Consolidated Forecast
In line with these aggressive business expansions, the company has revised its full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2026 and newly disclosed a consolidated earnings forecast.

As shown in the slide above (page 22), the non-consolidated net sales forecast has been upwardly revised to 956 million yen (+56 million yen from the initial forecast, +16.7% YoY) due to the strong performance of core services and the contribution of "X-log." The newly announced consolidated net sales forecast, following the inclusion of Anycloud, is 1.058 billion yen , marking a milestone of exceeding the 1 billion yen threshold. Meanwhile, the non-consolidated operating loss forecast has been revised to 141 million yen, and the consolidated operating loss to 182 million yen. This downward revision is due to M&A acquisition costs, goodwill amortization (approx. 21 million yen annually on a consolidated basis; 7 months for this fiscal year), and increased consolidated audit fees. Notably, on a real non-consolidated operating basis, excluding M&A-related one-time expenses and investment securities valuation losses (14 million yen), the loss is expected to be 76 million yen, which is 35 million yen better than the initial plan (112 million yen loss).
7. Tailwinds from External Environment (Regulatory Strengthening) and Growth Roadmap
A powerful tailwind for the future business environment is the "Credit Card Security Guidelines [Version 6.0]" (revised March 2025). This revision mandates not only the introduction of EMV 3-D Secure but also makes the implementation of anti-unauthorized login measures mandatory. E-commerce operators and financial institutions are now required to implement consistent security measures across the entire user journey (the "line" process), from member registration and login to ordering and payment. This significantly enhances Cacco's competitive advantage, as it handles both login protection (Account Protection) and payment protection (Payment Protection). Moving forward, the company plans to strengthen its approach to the financial domain (market size of 72-96 billion yen) and overseas markets, in addition to the domestic e-commerce market (24-36 billion yen). By leveraging partnerships with credit card companies to propose solutions that "improve payment approval rates and prevent cart abandonment," the company aims to further expand its market share.
