Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) announced that it has updated the branding for its next-generation graphene battery technology as development work continues with the University of Queensland, Rio Tinto and the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana.
The new branding will be used across GMG's graphene battery cells and is intended to highlight the batteries' safety and fast-charging characteristics, as well as the use of graphene to enhance performance and cycle life, the company wrote.
GMG and UQ are developing the battery technology under a Joint Development Agreement with Rio Tinto. The program is also supported by BIC, a US-based public-private partnership focused on the development, testing and commercialization of energy storage systems.
BIC has conducted more than 500 battery development projects over the past decade, according to GMG.
The organization works with universities, government agencies and commercial enterprises on energy storage systems for defense and commercial customers.
GMG is an Australian clean-technology company that develops, manufactures and sells energy-saving and energy-storage solutions enabled by graphene produced through its in-house manufacturing process.
