Active Energy Group PLC (AIM:AEG, OTCID:AEUSF) told investors it plans to build an integrated infrastructure platform in the UAE, broadening its focus beyond power-backed artificial intelligence projects into water, energy and critical digital infrastructure.
The company said its immediate priority remains identifying and developing power-backed facilities for AI and high-performance computing. However, it increasingly sees opportunities to connect reliable energy supply with water infrastructure, sustainable resource management and wider national resilience projects.
Management argued that expanding AI data centres require not only substantial electricity but also secure water supplies for cooling. AEG believes this overlap aligns with UAE investment priorities spanning energy security, water and food security, advanced manufacturing and resilient supply chains.
Chief executive Paul Elliott said the strategy targets “long-term structural opportunities rather than responding to short-term market trends”.
The firm added that it continues to evaluate a growing pipeline of UAE opportunities, with any projects subject to technical, commercial and contractual due diligence.
