Niutech, a global leader in industrial continuous pyrolysis technology, recently announced that its independently developed 'New Generation Titan-Iron Mountain Waste Reduction and Enrichment Technology and Complete Equipment' – specifically designed for the recovery of valuable materials from low-grade, complex titan-iron mountain waste – has been reviewed by a national expert institution, which certified the technology as having an 'internationally advanced level.' The 'Demonstration Project for the Production of High-Quality Titanium-Rich Materials from Tailings with an Annual Capacity of 300,000 Tons,' utilizing this technology and equipment, is currently under construction in Linyi, Shandong Province, China. Upon completion, it will be Asia's leading demonstration project for the environmentally friendly recovery of strategic mineral resources. As a key strategic step by Niutech in the comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, the new facility is designed based on the principles of 'safety, environmental protection, low CO₂, and high efficiency.' It is equipped with the company's latest synergistic technology – 'low-temperature pyrolysis with in-situ reduction' – achieving groundbreaking industry advancements in reduction temperature control, waste heat energy recovery, intelligent system management, and more.
Utilizing plastic waste and other organic waste as a reducing agent, the technology generates reducing gas through low-temperature pyrolysis to achieve in-situ reduction of tailings within a single integrated system. This approach combines solid waste treatment, tailings enrichment, and energy cycling, challenging the traditional assumption that high temperatures are necessary for efficient reduction.
The production line features three significant advantages: (1) Continuous low-temperature reduction below 700°C (industrial range 550–600°C) with a reduction rate exceeding 50% – significantly lower than traditional smelting processes; (2) Highly efficient energy utilization with >93% waste heat recovery, a reduction in energy consumption of 36%+, and approximately 40% lower CO₂ emissions; (3) Intelligent, safe operation through material and temperature-specific regulation, dynamic sealing, and intelligent control, enabling continuous, stable, high-capacity operation.
Based on decades of R&D and engineering experience, Niutech collaborates with global clients in the mineral and solid waste sectors to provide cost-effective, on-time delivery of environmental equipment and green solutions for strategic mineral recovery and the industry's transition to a low-carbon economy.
