Otis Brazil, part of Otis Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: OTIS ), has completed comprehensive technical upgrades to the three elevators that connect visitors who access Alto Corcovado through the Corcovado Train to see Christ the Redeemer, a monument located in the Tijuca National Park, in Rio de Janeiro. Otis installed the original elevators and escalators at Christ the Redeemer in 2003, and has maintained them ever since. Now, Otis is undertaking a comprehensive modernization of both systems to enhance performance, durability and accessibility for visitors. Otis will also install four new escalators and two inclined elevators at the iconic site, further enhancing accessibility to the world-renowned monument. The execution of this improvement project is commissioned by the concessionaire Trem do Corcovado, based on a revitalization plan established by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), which manages the National Park.
