Sentiment Analysis
Lindian Resources Ltd (ASX:LIN, OTC:LINIF) has stockpiled about 125,000 tonnes of ore at its Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi, putting feedstock ahead of schedule as the company moves towards commissioning and first monazite concentrate production by the end of 2026. Mining operations are now firmly established, with the Stage 1 pit opened and 14 production blasts completed, while drill-and-blast activities, ore haulage and run-of-mine (ROM) stockpiling continue. The sizeable stockpile is intended to remove mining from the commissioning critical path, ensuring sufficient feed is available during start-up and supporting a more controlled ramp-up towards steady-state production. Construction of the processing plant is continuing around the clock across day and night shifts, with activity increasingly shifting from bulk construction into mechanical installation, piping, electrical works and instrumentation. Lindian's practical completion of the Stage 1 process plant remained on schedule, with first ore introduction and first monazite concentrate production targeted before the end of the year. Civil works around the SAG mill are approaching completion, while thickener installation has been completed and mechanical equipment installation is progressing across the gravity separation circuit. Bulk earthworks at the tailings storage facility have also been completed, leaving toe dam lining and associated piping among the remaining works ahead of commissioning. Power infrastructure is another key near-term milestone.
