I still view UnitedHealth as a fully playable recovery, with MCR improving from 89.4% to 86.7% and 2026 EPS guidance already raised twice. Management is deliberately giving up lower-quality membership to rebuild margins, while operating cash flow guidance has increased from >$18B to ~$24B. The broader health care setup also looks attractive, with the sector heavily lagging the S&P 500 and a more defensive macro backdrop developing. At roughly 18.7x 2026 EPS, I believe UNH still prices in too little of management’s 13%-16% long-term EPS growth ambition.
