Zefiro Methane Corp. (Cboe Canada: ZEFI) (FSE: Y6B) (OTCQB: ZEFIF) (the "Company", "Zefiro", or "ZEFI"), a North American environmental services company specializing in methane abatement and the plugging of orphaned and end-of-life oil and gas wells, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a US$11.5 million well-plugging services contract by an environmental protection department for a state in the Great Lakes region, for services to be performed between November 2026 and June 2029. Per the terms of the grant funding the well-plugging contract, a fixed portion of approximately US$3 million must be fully spent between November 2026 and June 30, 2027. The remaining balance of USD $8.5 million is then expected to be spent between July 2027 and June 2029. Over the course of 2026, Zefiro has strategically assembled a robust portfolio of environmental remediation projects in key markets across the United States. These markets include Zefiro's established operating territory primarily in the northeastern U.S., in addition to regions that have been newly added by way of equipment acquisitions and Zefiro's strategic partnership with the Well Done Foundation, expanding capabilities in several additional states. This announcement follows a June 2025 contract award for a three-year US$19.6 million Construction Manager at Risk contract by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to perform remediation work on approximately 200 high-priority marginal wells, alongside a steady flow of plugging contracts from accounts in both the private and public sectors. Zefiro Chief Executive Officer Catherine Flax commented: "We are pleased to announce the addition of this three-year contract award to our growing backlog, reflecting our market leadership position in many regions where we operate. Having recently expanded our equipment fleet and crews to address a widening opportunity set, Zefiro is better positioned than ever to capitalize on these large-scale contracts, as bipartisan federal funding continues and private sector demand remains strong." "In addition to providing a more predictable revenue base, these multi-year contracts enable us to strategically allocate our rigs and team members to optimize utilization, increase margins and identify opportunities to supplement our capabilities as needed. We look forward to working on this contract as part of Zefiro's continued efforts to plug oil and gas wells across America, which we believe positions us well to drive sustainable shareholder value creation over the long-term."
