Designed for seniors living alone, Doova goes beyond the traditional functions of security devices and home robots by combining proactive protection, emotionally intelligent companionship, and seamless smart home coordination to foster a safer, more connected, and more comfortable daily life.

For many seniors living independently, the greatest concern is not the accident itself, but the time it takes for someone to notice something is wrong. Doova is equipped with LDS LiDAR, a four-microphone sound source localization system, and AI-powered skeleton recognition algorithms. Should a user fall or encounter another emergency, they can call out “Hey Tuya, help,” and Doova will promptly locate the user, rush to their side, and assess the situation in real-time. If no response is detected within 60 seconds, Doova will automatically initiate an emergency workflow and send an alert in the form of a two-way live video call to family members, so that help can be organized without delay.

Doova combines emotional companionship, daily assistance, and wellness support within a single AI-powered home companion specifically designed for the elderly. Its conversational ability is based on a multimodal large language model, enabling it to engage in natural, fluid conversations rather than merely responding to preset commands. During quiet moments at home, Doova can converse, provide companionship, and play entertainment content to alleviate feelings of loneliness. In daily life, it can help understand complex bills and letters, identify potential scam risks, and guide users in operating smart home appliances. In terms of health and daily organization, Doova can provide reminders for medication, weather reports, and schedules, while also entertaining users with simple interactive games. Over time, Doova learns the user’s preferences and offers increasingly personalized support in everyday areas such as meal suggestions, gardening tips, and outfit recommendations. For the future, Tuya also plans to introduce value-added services, including autonomously locating items throughout the house, to reduce the worry of misplaced belongings.

When users are away from home, Doova makes home monitoring easier and less intrusive. Unlike traditional patrol-style security devices that follow fixed routes along walls and can give the impression of obvious surveillance, Doova uses a node-oriented coverage strategy focused on the center of each room.
