Sands China Recognized in Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices for ESG Excellence

Sands China Ltd. has achieved a significant recognition for its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, being named to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJBIC) Indices for the fifth consecutive year in the World Index and the sixth consecutive year in the Asia Pacific Index.

This dual listing makes Sands China the world's only integrated resort operator to be included in both prestigious indices. The company's performance was assessed across its core ESG pillars: 'People, Community, and Planet.' In the World Index, Sands China and its parent company, Las Vegas Sands Corp., were among only 16 integrated resort operators invited to participate, with both securing spots.

Grant Chum, CEO of Sands China, expressed honor at the recognition, emphasizing the company's dedication to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. Sands China has embedded ESG principles into its operations for over two decades, focusing on local talent development, community inclusion, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Key initiatives include extensive employee training programs, the Sands Cares Ambassador Programme which has contributed over 362,000 community service hours, and efforts to revitalize local communities and historical areas. Environmentally, Sands China has achieved a 61% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to a 2018 baseline and continues to implement green practices such as 100% playing card recycling and increased procurement of eco-friendly materials.
