Cambium Networks' ePMP 4000 Series Surpasses 220,000 Radios Shipped Globally, Tops 50,000 6 GHz Units in North America

Cambium Networks (NASDAQ: CMBMF) announced that its ePMP 4000 Series has surpassed two shipment milestones: over 220,000 radios shipped globally since launch, and more than 50,000 6 GHz radios shipped in North America.

These achievements follow the release of ePMP Software 5.12, a free upgrade designed to enhance radio performance and offer a more cost-effective way for operators to expand coverage in less dense areas. The new software allows supported ePMP 4000 Series subscriber modules to function as access points via a $99 software license, enabling operators to add capacity in rural gaps or temporary sectors.

Sakid Ahmed, General Manager of ePMP Business at Cambium Networks, stated that the strong shipment numbers demonstrate service providers' confidence in the ePMP 4000 Series platform. He highlighted its competitive throughput and pricing compared to fiber and satellite alternatives, as well as its flexibility for market expansion and existing network upgrades.

Release 5.12, available since July 31, 2026, also improves overall system performance for both ePMP 4500 and 4600 access points and subscriber modules. It enhances single subscriber module performance in loaded environments and addresses a key bottleneck for customer adoption. The 4600C model is now better equipped to deliver gigabit services, and the release includes usability and reliability enhancements for 6 GHz automatic frequency coordination.

Scott Imhoff, Senior Vice President of Product Management and Planning at Cambium Networks, emphasized that the software upgrade allows service providers to improve their networks without replacing hardware, offering a genuine lower-cost growth solution and a strong return on investment.

Feedback from service providers has been positive. Alex, owner of Snap Internet, reported that the 6 GHz band and ePMP 4600 radios allowed his company to increase its top service plan to 500 Mbps, saving his business from issues caused by interference on their previous 5 GHz network.

Eric Nowland of Wyoming.com mentioned that Cambium's automatic frequency coordination tool simplifies planning and deployment. He also noted that the ePMP 4000 Series is meeting his target 18-month payback period for new sites as he transitions customers from legacy equipment and enters new markets.

ePMP Software Release 5.12 is available as a free upgrade through the Cambium Community portal. The SM-to-AP license (part number C050900S608A, $99 MSRP) can be purchased through Cambium's distributors and resellers.
