Sentiment Analysis
Silgan Holdings remains a 'hold' as revenue growth is offset by stagnant profits and cash flows. SLGN's valuation is objectively cheap, but not compelling relative to packaging peers, limiting upgrade potential. Management expects cost reductions and higher volumes to improve profitability in 2026, with guidance for adjusted EPS of $3.73–$3.93. I await Q2 2026 results for evidence of sustained bottom-line improvement or a more attractive entry point.
Back in late October of last year, I made the decision to upgrade shares of Silgan Holdings (SLGN) from a ‘sell’ to a ‘hold.’ I found myself impressed by its acquisition of Weener Packaging.
