Nova Minerals Corp (ASX:NVA, NYSE-A:NVA) has advanced its planned antimony processing and refining operation at Port MacKenzie in Alaska, with around 44 containers of equipment delivered to the site as the project takes shape as a cornerstone of the state’s emerging critical minerals industry.
The project was a central focus of a Port MacKenzie Industry Day attended by nearly 100 representatives from government, mining, infrastructure, transport, energy and engineering, with Nova highlighted as an anchor tenant for the industrial district.
Nova’s facility is backed by a US$43.4 million award from the US Department of War and is intended to establish a domestic antimony supply chain serving defence, energy and industrial applications.
Port director Dave Griffin said about 44 containers of equipment for Nova’s pilot project had arrived over the Labor Day weekend, while Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy described the delivery as a significant step towards developing an Alaska-based antimony supply chain.
Nova is building a secure, vertically integrated US antimony supply chain in Alaska, spanning domestic production, processing and refining, as outlined in this recently released video.
Port MacKenzie is being developed as a minerals processing and export hub, with almost 10,000 acres of industrial-zoned land available for refining, manufacturing, logistics and related activities.
