Filtronic PLC ( LSE:FTC ) View Price & Profile Filtronic shares jump 14% as Cavendish backs outlook after SpaceX order Published: 04:30 01 Oct 2026 EDT Filtronic PLC (LSE:FTC) shares jumped nearly 14% to an intraday high of 270p on Thursday after a record $68.1 million SpaceX order prompted Cavendish to reiterate its 'buy' rating and 290p price target. The contract covers Filtronic’s Cerus E-band gallium nitride solid-state power amplifiers and is expected to be materially fulfilled during the 2028 financial year. Cavendish said the order underpins its existing 2028 forecasts and means more than 90% of projected revenue for that year is now covered by firm orders. The broker left its forecasts unchanged, including 2028 revenue of £75 million and adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of £17 million. The latest award is Filtronic’s largest SpaceX order to date and follows a $62.5 million contract announced in August 2025 for the same next-generation gallium nitride technology. The equipment is used in ground stations supporting SpaceX’s Starlink low Earth orbit satellite network. Cavendish said it expects SpaceX to continue investing significantly in its global ground-station network beyond 2028. The broker also highlighted potential applications for Filtronic’s gallium nitride technology beyond SpaceX, including other satellite communications customers and defence markets. Continue reading
