Filtronic PLC ( LSE:FTC ) View Price & Profile Filtronic lands record $68.1 million SpaceX order Published: 02:24 01 Oct 2026 EDT Filtronic PLC (LSE:FTC) , the UK designer and manufacturer of advanced radio-frequency technology, has secured a $68.1 million follow-on order from SpaceX, its largest contract yet from the satellite company. The order covers Filtronic’s Cerus E-band gallium nitride solid-state power amplifiers, which are used in high-frequency communications applications. Filtronic expects the contract to be materially fulfilled during its 2028 financial year, providing greater visibility over future revenue and supporting the board’s existing expectations for the period. The latest award follows a $62.5 million SpaceX order announced in August 2025 for Filtronic’s next-generation proprietary gallium nitride, or GaN, E-band technology. GaN technology offers higher output power, greater efficiency and improved thermal performance compared with traditional gallium arsenide technology, making it suitable for demanding applications including low Earth orbit satellite communications. Chief executive Nat Edington said the follow-on contract represented another significant milestone for Filtronic and extended the company’s order visibility over the next couple of years. He said the contract also provided further evidence of growing adoption of GaN technology in high-frequency communications and strengthened Filtronic’s position in the market. The order further deepens the relationship between Filtronic and SpaceX, which has become an increasingly significant customer as demand for satellite communications equipment expands.
