Okta Inc ( NASDAQ:OKTA ) View Price & Profile Okta price target lifted to $220 as BofA sees stronger AI agent positioning Published: 13:13 24 Sep 2026 EDT Bank of America (BofA) raised its price target on Okta Inc (NASDAQ:OKTA) to $220 from $200 after the company unveiled new AI-agent security and identity capabilities at its Oktane 2026 conference. The bank said Okta’s ambition to become the identity control plane for AI agents was reinforced by new offerings including Agent SSO, runtime enforcement features and support for third-party identity providers. The bank has retained its ‘neutral’ rating on the US-based identity and access management company. BofA described the announcements as a continuation of early momentum rather than a change to its core investment thesis, while calling them another positive step for Okta’s AI strategy. Agent SSO, now available at no additional cost within Okta’s core SSO offering, uses short-lived, identity-governed tokens instead of stored credentials and gives each supported agent a first-class identity. Bank of America noted that this broadens adoption and creates a funnel into paid governance and runtime security controls. Okta for AI Agents, which includes Shadow AI Agent Discovery, Agent Gateway and Agent-to-Agent Connections, extends Okta beyond authentication into agent governance and runtime enforcement. Features such as permission mapping and a kill switch for deactivated agents are expected to strengthen monetization. The report also highlighted Okta’s support for third-party identity providers, including Microsoft Entra ID. BofA said support for third-party identity providers could expand Okta’s total addressable market by allowing it to sell AI-agent security alongside competing workforce identity platforms. This strategy positions Okta to sell adjacent controls such as privileged access and runtime detection without needing to dominate the core identity system. BofA said the AI-agent enhancements strengthen Okta’s opportunity to provide identity security across disparate systems. Continue reading
