Poolbeg Pharma PLC ( AIM:POLB ) View Price & Profile Poolbeg Pharma gets green light to continue clinical trial Published: 02:44 24 Sep 2026 EDT Poolbeg Pharma PLC (AIM:POLB) told investors that its POLB 001 TOPICAL clinical trial will continue as planned after an interim safety review recommended no changes to the study protocol. Patient recruitment is continuing across UK clinical sites, with further patients expected to be enrolled and additional centres activated as the trial progresses. TOPICAL is evaluating POLB 001 as a preventative treatment for cytokine release syndrome, or CRS, in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma receiving the approved bispecific antibody teclistamab. Poolbeg said further clinical data will also feed into ongoing discussions with prospective partners around the programme. Chief executive Jeremy Skillington said the recommendation represented a “significant milestone” for the trial. The positive recommendation to continue the study as planned provides further confidence as we advance the POLB 001 programme. “We are building momentum across the study, with recruitment continuing at leading UK clinical sites, further patients expected to be enrolled and additional sites activated.
