ZeroRisk, the Irish cybersecurity company that helps payment providers manage and reduce cyber risk across their merchant portfolios, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round.
The funding will accelerate ZeroRisk's global expansion, product development, and deployment of its platform to major payment processors. ZeroRisk aims to become the leader in the emerging space of risk management in the payment processing industry.
Founded in 2023, ZeroRisk provides banks and payment service providers with a holistic view of cyber risk across their entire merchant portfolio. It aggregates risk monitoring, compliance, training, remediation, and protection services onto a single platform.
Merchants receive informed advice on the risks associated with their business and the steps they can take to address them.
The round was led by MiddleGame Ventures, with participation from existing investor Elkstone.
This investment will support ZeroRisk's global expansion, continued product development, and the scaling of operational capacity required to deploy the platform across large merchant portfolios.
ZeroRisk is already working with payments industry players including Bank of America, Global Payments, Checkout.com, and Trust Payments.
The company expects to triple its revenue in 2026 as contracted programs move into deployment and its international customer base expands.
Merchant cybersecurity programs have traditionally focused on annual compliance exercises. Today, the risks facing small businesses extend far beyond mere compliance, encompassing scams, credential theft, website vulnerabilities, connected device attacks, and the ability to recover from an incident.
ZeroRisk also helps payment service providers turn their compliance obligations into revenue opportunities by offering value-added services to merchants.
Speaking today, Gary Nolan, Co-Founder and CEO of ZeroRisk, said: “Payment companies have been trying to manage merchant risk for years through annual compliance exercises. That is no longer sufficient. Their customers face scams, credential theft, website breaches, and device attacks daily. Our mission is to provide payment providers with visibility across their entire portfolio and offer merchants a clear roadmap.”
“ZeroRisk has moved from product validation to large-scale deployment. This investment will allow us to scale our team, enhance our platform, and support the payment providers who have chosen to build their next generation of merchant cybersecurity programs with us.”
The company currently operates in Ireland and the United States, with offices in Dublin, Ireland; Atlanta, USA; and Longford, Ireland.
Patrick Pinschmidt, Co-Managing Partner at MiddleGame Ventures, added: “The ZeroRisk team brings a unique blend of commercial and technical expertise, strengthened by close collaboration with leading payment providers. As...
