Heinrichs explained why metallurgy represents an important milestone on the path back to production, with gold recovery having a direct impact on the economics of processing ore. The latest work tested material from the Ogama-Rockland resource and achieved gold recoveries of up to 96.7%. He said the results also verified that material from the satellite deposit can be processed through the company’s existing mill circuit. Heinrichs described the ore as relatively clean and similar to True North material in terms of its additional mineral content. While the Ogama material required a slightly longer retention time, he said the difference was not significant and could be accommodated by the current circuit. Discussing the importance of recovery rates to potential economics, Heinrichs said: “It directly translates into how much money the company is able to monetize out of these deposits, which is important for us.” He also outlined 1911 Gold Corp (TSX-V:AUMB, OTCQB:AUMBF) ’s broader plan to discover and develop additional mines across its 62,000-hectare project area, with ore ultimately intended to feed a central mill. As new project areas are developed, the company plans to test their material and determine whether adjustments to the mill circuit are required.
