Western Star Resources Inc. has announced the results of a high-resolution UAV magnetic geophysical survey conducted at its White Star Tungsten Project in Elko County, Nevada, USA. The survey aimed to gather detailed magnetic data over historical workings, identify new prospective targets, and enhance the understanding of structural controls on mineralization.
The processed data, including Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) and its derivatives, has revealed key insights. The historical Batholith mine is located along a northwest-southeast trending magnetic lineament within a subtle magnetic low. Similar geophysical features have been identified across the property, suggesting potential for further discoveries.
A significant magnetic high in the western part of the property may indicate an unmapped extension of the intrusive granite, which is believed to be associated with tungsten-bearing skarn mineralization in the region. This newly identified area, situated adjacent to mapped carbonate units, is considered prospective for contact skarn-hosted tungsten mineralization. Additionally, multiple magnetic lineaments have been identified, interpreted as fault and fracture zones that could influence mineralization.
These results will be integrated with ongoing rock-chip and soil geochemical data collection to further refine exploration strategies at the White Star Tungsten Project.
